Preparing for Tough Conversations: A Quick Guide

This guide is not meant to imply that tough conversations are quick and easy; they are often anything but that! Instead, it is meant to give you a few simple but powerful things that you can do to increase the odds of success when having challenging or complex conversations. Taking time up front to prepare for potentially-tough conversations ahead of time is one of the most important things we can do to increase our odds of success for the conversation itself. Susan Scott, the author of Fierce Conversations, has said,
