Zing Collaborative, About, Sarah Young, Expansive Impact

WELCOME!

I’m Sarah, and I’m beyond grateful to work with incredible individuals, teams, and organizations to create Expansive Impact here at Zing Collaborative. The Zing Collaborative Community is made up of phenomenal individuals - and I’m so glad that you’re here.

Zing Collaborative was born in 2013 as a result of two key observations from my time in the corporate world, where I had the opportunity to work in a number of executive leadership roles across a multiple areas of the organization.

First - that when we are working at the intersection of our strengths and our passions, in service of something greater than ourselves, we typically find the greatest levels of joy, satisfaction, fulfillment, and impact in our work.

And Second - that while leaders have a tremendous impact (positive or negative) on the health, happiness, and overall effectiveness of their teams, they often lack the level of training, coaching, and development that empowers them to be as successful as possible.

With a passion to translate these observations into concrete action and impact, I launched Zing Collaborative in 2013, with a focus on empowering individuals to create impact in a way that feels inspired and alive, and empowering leaders to lead in a way that feels authentic and aligned, in service of positive impact and incredible outcomes.

TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE: PEOPLE, PROFIT, & PLANET.

I believe that through more conscious leadership and more conscious business, we can, together, create a more conscious world.

Zing Collaborative, About One Percent for the Planet, Giving Back

Zing Collaborative partners with conscious companies who care not only about results, but about people and about the planet. The Zing Collaborative Community is made up of leading companies across a variety of industries that model what conscious business looks like. This means that in addition to focusing on the bottom line and results, members of the Zing Collaborative Community prioritize people and leadership development; sustainability and environmental stewardship; volunteering and service; creating a diverse and welcoming working environment; and giving back to their community.

Zing Collaborative is a proud member of 1% for the Planet, which means that 1% of sales are donated to approved non-profit organizations that are working to preserve and protect our precious planet.

Zing Collaborative has also started the process of purchasing Carbon Offsets for client-related travel that requires flights. We often drive rather than fly whenever it makes sense to do so, in order to minimize the environmental impact of travel.

Leadership, impact, and aliveness

From day one, I’ve been driven by the idea that it’s possible to do meaningful work that feels true to who we are and what we believe in, in a way that feels inspired and alive—in a way that is of service to the world.

I believe in the idea of putting a positive dent in the universe in our own unique way, and I believe that we can do this while remaining in integrity to who we are and what we believe matters most in this lifetime.

Whole person leadership, impact, and aliveness are the three pillars of Zing Collaborative. These pillars are what drive me to keep showing up, with fierce love and unwavering commitment so that my clients can continue to create remarkable change in their lives, companies, and the world.

WORKING TOGETHER to create expansive impact™

Expansive Impact invites us to reconcile the false dichotomies that we often face as leaders.

  • Should I be truthful, or should I be kind?

  • Should I act in a way that aligns with my values, or in a way that meets external expectations?

  • Do I work to create impact, or do I seek balance?

Together, we explore these false dichotomies and rather than taking an either/or approach, we invite the idea of both/and.

  • What can it look like to be truthful and kind?

  • What can it look like to honor both shelter (stability) and poetry (passion and creativity)?

  • What can it look like to stay true to ourselves, while also meeting (and exceeding) expectations?

Through our work, we will stand in the messy middle of leadership and life and rather than resisting it, we will create from it.

We may do this through coaching and thought partnership, leadership development, team development, keynotes, or workshops & intensives about topics that matter. . . or through a curated event—such as seasonal retreats for founders and leaders or a public event such as a women’s leadership circle.

This approach is for organizations, teams, founders, leaders, entrepreneurs, and passionate professionals from diverse industries who care about the triple bottom line - people, profit, and planet.

Clients have called this approach "fresh, relevant, unique, results-focused, energizing, and highly-impactful."

ABOUT SARAH: Fun Stuff

Myers & Briggs says I'm an ENFP, which means that I’m a passion-driven ideas person who gains energy from interacting with the world around me, and becomes quickly excited over new possibilities. I can’t say I disagree. I’m an iS per DISC, an Obliger per Gretchen Rubin’s 4 Tendencies (and have many clients who are the same - coaching is an incredible tool for Obligers), a Thinker per The Motivators Assessment, and a 7 on Enneagram.

When I’m not with clients, I’m often traveling, adventuring, or exploring out in nature - camping, fat biking, hiking, exploring a new town square or a new trail out in nature.

I’ve completed Ironman Wisconsin twice, have run a number of marathons and half marathons, and regularly participate in snow shoe and fat bike events in an attempt to embrace the cold midwest winters.

I have a deep love of warm weather; summer, sunshine, and bright spaces; crisp mountain, ocean, and Great Lakes air; hosting intimate gatherings full of genuine connection; traveling; adventure; journaling; reading 13 books at the same time; conscious business; and witnessing amazing humans doing inspiring work in the world.

Madison, WI is my home base, and I am grateful to spend periods of time living and working elsewhere, while serving clients throughout the US.

I work each day to keep my values at the center of my actions and choices (it’s a continuous work in progress), and am passionate about working with you to do the same.

Giving Back

One of Zing Collaborative's core values is Giving Back. In addition to being a proud member of 1% for the Planet, we regularly donate to organizations and causes that we believe in. Organizations that we have supported over the last couple of years, or are actively supporting, include:

In additional to ongoing giving through financial and volunteer-based contributions, most Zing Collaborative events include an opportunity to attend via a scholarship at a reduced rate. I typically reserve one space in my coaching practice for a scholarship-based client as well.

If you feel that the mission of your organization is aligned with the mission of Zing Collaborative and are interested in working together, please drop me a note.
